What are some of your favorite, forgotten albums that have stood the test of time?

I'm going to have to say Jeff Buckley's "Grace" to this one. Not only is it a fantastic album but it reminds me of the time I met my fiance (he introduced me to it).
There's one song on it, Mojo Pin, I think I can actually feel my heart beat to it. I could listen to that on repeat endlessly and not get bored. There's not many songs you can say that about.
We've often joked, the fiance and I, that though we love Jeff's music there's no way we could play any of it at our wedding next year. Most of his songs talk of heartache and make them inappropriate to use on our special day. Despite that however, how can they still become the soundtrack to you falling in love with someone? I call it Buckley magic.

I think the closest song to acceptable we thought was "Everybody Here Wants You", and even that wasn't really appropriate for a wedding. :)
Oh wow, how cool!
"Everybody Here Wants You" was the first Buckley song I ever heard :) When we first met and realised there was a connection between us, Sohail made me a CD called "Songs about you" and that was the first song on there. I hadn't read the track listing and didn't know who it was but was immediately taken aback by the voice and lyrics. Its a truly sexy song.
I was listening to X-fm during a journey and the show host was asking listeners to ring in and say who their favourite artists were and why. Someone rang in to say Jeff because Jeff's songs of love could bring him (a straight man) to tears. Hmm if I'm being honest, Lover, you should have come over did that to me the first time I heard it as did hallelujah. Mojo Pin just makes me smile because its so good, it's entirely transcendent, it's one of those rare songs that if you let it, it captures you completely in the moment and redefines the moment. Here's a tip for you lovely folks, 'Let Down' by Radiohead also exists on that intangible plane :)
